Thief who robbed luxury watches worth Rs 2 crore held in Bangalore
Bengaluru: A man who robbed watches worth Rs 2 crore after breaking into a watch showroom in the locality of Indiranagar in Bengaluru has been arrested, police said on Friday.
He was identified as Akthar, 37, a resident of Madeenanagar in Mangammanapalya.
According to the police, no less than 171 brand watches were seized from him.
Akthar, a native of Bihar, committed the burglary on January 5 at an exhibition hall in the locality of Indiranagar. The police launched a manhunt for four accomplices of Akhtar.
They used to identify stores and showrooms in the morning and later rob the goods.
The accused used to rent a house in metropolitan cities to commit burglaries. They went to showrooms and stores posing as customers and observed security measures.
The stolen goods were sold at the Nepal-Bihar border at ridiculous prices.
