Smartphone brand OPPO is set to launch its A74 5G smartphone in India on Tuesday. Released earlier in several Southeast Asian countries, the Indian version is expected to come with several modifications and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC.
Where to look
The launch event will begin at 12 noon. Although the event comes just a day after the company’s launch of the A54 smartphone, there is still no clarity as to whether the event can be seen online.
Features and specifications
The device is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC backed by a powerful 5,000mAh battery that has support for 18W fast charging. The device will come with a 90Hz hyper-color display that features ‘a perforated design. It could also feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Another feature of the smartphone, based on various leaks and reports, is an LCD panel on the AMOLED display for better viewing experience.
The smartphone is expected to have a triple camera installed on the back that includes a main 48 MP sensor and two 2 MP sensors. While the A74 launched in other countries had a 16MP selfie camera, the Indian variant may only have an 8MP camera on the front.
Oppo had confirmed last week that the model would be offered at a price below Rs 20,000 in the country. With the A54 launched earlier priced at Rs 13,490, the smartphone maker is making it clear that it aims to bring fierce competition to the price-sensitive Indian market.
